Frequently Asked Questions
Pyr Sheps & AKC

Smallest of the French herding breeds, this rustic and athletic little dog is very affectionate with his own family, but is distrustful of strangers. Dressed in cords, flowing long hair or a demi-long jacket, with or without a mustache, he is a friend for all seasons.

The little shepherd excels at all performance events --herding, agility, tracking, flyball, obedience. The breed benefits greatly from an experienced handler -especially at the top levels of competition, but they are also tolerant of novices, and can be an excellent first dog, and very gratifying for those willing to take the time to learn how to be consistent.
